For over twenty years, the Crepax Archive has not only safeguarded and managed the artist’s literary and artistic legacy, but has also worked to expand it while remaining faithful to the original spirit of his work.

At the same time, the character of Valentina has outlived her creator, continuing to embody a striking modernity — a timeless allure and an enduring ability to connect with a world very different from the one in which she was born.

The Crepax Archive has often followed in the footsteps of the artist’s own intuitions, yet in some cases it has ventured even further. This has led to new editions of his comic stories, recently reissued in a newly coloured version.

Building on the artist’s passion for objects adorned with his drawings, the Crepax Archive has also initiated a range of collaborations with the worlds of design and production.

Almost every year, Crepax’s work is presented anew in major public exhibitions that highlight ever-fresh and original aspects of his art. For the past fifteen years or so, the Crepax Archive has also played a leading role in the market for original plates, working to protect and enhance the value of the works regularly exhibited and sold in galleries across Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, and the United States.

Most recently, this path has led to a new project: the creation of fresh stories featuring a new Valentina, made possible through collaboration with Sergio Gerasi — comic-book author and illustrator of Dylan Dog — and the publisher Feltrinelli.
